MINING COMMISSION SHOWCASED OPPORTUNITIES AT 2024 MINING CONFERENCE
The Mining Commission actively participated in the Tanzania Mining and Investment Conference 2024, held at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre (JNICC) in Dar es Salaam.
Conducted under the theme “Mineral Value Addition for Social-Economic Development,” the event brought together key stakeholders, government officials, and investors from across the globe to explore opportunities in Tanzania’s mining sector.
During the opening ceremony, Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa reaffirmed the government’s commitment to promoting mineral value addition, emphasizing its role in fostering industrialization and accelerating economic growth.
Addressing participants, Minister for Minerals Hon. Anthony Mavunde detailed the achievements of Tanzania’s mineral sector and highlighted government-led initiatives designed to support small-scale miners. He encouraged both local and international investors to seize opportunities in mining, mineral processing, and trade, emphasizing Tanzania’s readiness to collaborate on advancing the industry.
The Mining Commission showcased its efforts to enhance mineral processing and value addition through interactive engagements with stakeholders and potential investors. Visitors to the Commission’s booth were informed about the country’s progressive policies and investment incentives, which aim to position the mining sector as a cornerstone of the national economy.
The conference served as a testament to Tanzania’s dedication to leveraging its mineral resources as a driver of sustainable development, job creation, and technological advancement.
